Tanzania Course May 2024

A new course has come to an end, this time in Njombe (Tanzania), which began on 13 May.

It has been an intense few weeks where participants have come from different regions of this great country of almost 70 million people attracted by the desire to learn new technologies. A participant from Mozambique has also come, who has needed 3 days of bus travel to arrive and join the course.
During this course we have achieved:
💧 Construction of a hand pump for each student.
💧 Manual drilling of 2 wells.
💧 Construction of a complete rainwater collection system with an underground cistern with a capacity of 8,000 litres.
💧 Construction of a surface tank with a capacity of 2,000 litres.
💧 Construction of shower, toilet and hand-washing facilities. In addition, the set integrates a solar heater that supplies hot water, very convenient for the area where we were, since at 2000 meters the nights were cold going down to 10 degrees.
💧Construction of two types of solar heater.

As usual, theoretical classes were held to consolidate the knowledge learnt in practice.

For us, each course is a place to experiment and try out new techniques adapted to the regions where we work. Thus, in this case, the soils have poor aquifers, and we have developed a new technique of double piping, which allows us to extract water in an optimal way. We have filmed this new system, which has been added to the media library of video tutorials on EMAS technologies, which is available free of charge. We hope to be able to share these innovations with you soon.

Please find attached a video summarising this course. Once again, thank you very much for your support.
