We’re back after another course, this time in Zambia, in the southwestern region of Namwala.
On the one hand, we’ve trained new technicians in the region and prepared two complete drilling rigs.
However, the main objective this time was to establish a “Mobile Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Training Unit” that will, on the one hand, drill domestic wells and, on the other, be capable of identifying and training new technicians. Furthermore, this Mobile Training Unit will be responsible for conducting technical surveys in new regions, assessing their hydrogeological and socioeconomic potential, and thus conducting new courses that they could lead independently.
The people in charge of this Mobile Training Unit are Foster Wachata and Charles Kandandu, who participated in a previous course in southern Zambia in 2024.
After our return home in June 2025, Charles and Foster are already drilling wells in the Namwala region, while also teaching the trade to a new technician, who will receive a drilling rig to drill wells independently.
Here’s a video that summarizes this month of work.
