Hello to everyone!
We are back after a new course. We repeat the country, Senegal, exactly in Balingore, in the Casamance region, in the south of the country.
Participants from Mali, Guinea Bissau and Gambia, as well as from different parts of Senegal, have come to this course.
During the course, the following has been achieved:
💧 Construction of a manual pump for each student.
💧 Manual drilling of 2 wells with manual pump.
💧 Construction of 2000 liter water storage tank.
💧 Construction and delivery of material for 4 manual drilling rigs: two for Senegal, one for Guinea Bissau and one to complete the existing rig in Mali.
💧 Monitoring and improvement of the solar system installed 1 year ago, with submersible pumps of small diameter and reduced extraction to protect the aquifers.
💧 Study and field testing of drilling system with hammer drill.
💧 Installation of a water filtration system at the family level.
And, as usual, theoretical classes have also been carried out to consolidate and complement the knowledge acquired in practice.
We want to emphasize that all this work has been possible, in large part, due to the support of local professors Amadou Seydi (Senegal) and Carlos Vaz (Guinea Bissau), former students who have been drilling for several years in their respective countries.
In addition, cooperation with the local organization Africa Feliz Senegal has been particularly satisfactory. It has been very exciting to see how the relations between everybody have flowed so well, 23 people of different ethnicities, languages, cultures and nationalities living together and working together for a common goal: to learn and contribute to improving the lives of the people of their regions. Their desire and commitment have made it possible to overcome all linguistic and/or cultural barriers and have made the experience a success.
Finally, we share a video summary of the course, we hope you like it.
