Course Mozambique Feb 2026

Hello everyone!

We’re back after another course. This time in Massaca, in southern Mozambique, an hour from Maputo—the southernmost course we’ve ever conducted.

This was a pilot course with participants from the Masaca area and also a technician from Beira, in the center of the country.
It was a challenging but successful course due to the complex geology of the terrain, which we were finally able to overcome after a great deal of prospecting and identifying the areas to be drilled.

During this course, we achieved the following:

💧 Construction of a hand pump by each student.

💧 Manual drilling of 6 wells with hand pumps in two different areas.
💧 Construction of a 2000-liter water tank for family storage and rainwater collection.

💧 Construction and delivery of materials for two manual drilling rigs: one for the Masaca area and one for the Beira area.
💧 Construction of a pedal-operated irrigation pump.

And, as usual, theoretical classes were also held to reinforce and complement the knowledge acquired in the practical sessions.

We would like to highlight that this project was carried out not only by Spanish technicians from TADEH, but also by African collaborating technicians such as Carlos Vaz (Guinea-Bissau), whose participation in the training was key to a better transmission and assimilation of knowledge by the students and local organizations. Thank you very much, Carlos.

Furthermore, the cooperation with the local organizations Fundação Encontro and Casa do Gaiato, as well as with their collaborators, Mozambique Sur and ICLI, was especially satisfactory and contributed to the training’s success.

Finally, we share a video summary of the course; we hope you enjoy it.

Once again, thank you so much for your support.
